I just had the optima preamp and pickup in my custom legend (1869) crap out on me. Sent her to the mothership and all the electronics were replaced.

Was wondering if there were any changes made to the preamp electronics in the last few years? My guitar (shallow body) sounds a hell of a lot beefier than it used to (prior to malfunction). The old preamp face was black, and the new one is brown-was wondering if, perhaps, that was an indication of an updated version. The pickup looks the same.

Either way, I'm lovin' it. The guitar sounded awesome last night at rehearsal straight into the PA with no pedals. Usually it sounds a little too thin for my liking.

A look into my Optima showed, that it is a revision 2 sample (also brown face). So there are at least two versions of Optima out in the world!
