I stumbled up to the computer at 2am (don't ask), logged on and found:
"Sorry . . the are no new posts today"
I've NEVER had that happen to me before!!!
So, I thought I'd make use(?) of the time by offering the first Christmas Eve wish:

Now the street are full of laughter and light
and the music of the Season
And the merchant's windows are all bright
with the faces of the children
And the families hurrying to their homes
as the sky darkens and freezes
Will be gathering around their hearths and tables
giving thanks for God's graces
. . and the birth of the Rebel jesus

They call Him by the Prince of Peace
and they call Him by the Saviour
And they pray to Him upon the Seas
and in every bold endeavour
And the fill His churches with their Pride and Gold
as their Faith in Him increases
But they've changed the Nature that I Worship in
from "a Temple to Robber's Den"
. . in the Words of the Rebel Jesus

We guard our world with locks and guns
and we guard our fine Possessions
And Once A Year when Christmas comes
we give to our Relations
And perhaps we give a little to the Poor
If the Generosity should seize us
But if any one of Us should interfere
in the Business of why there are Poor
. . . . . get the same as the Rebel Jesus

But Please Forgive Me if I seem
to take a tone of judgement
For I've no wish to come between
This Day and your Enjoyment
In this world of hardship and of earthly toil
we have need of anything that frees us
So I bid you Pleasure and I bid you Cheer
from a Heathen and a Pagan
. . . . On the Side of the Rebel Jesus

That was great!

Justified your 2 AM adventure.

Merry birthday to you of that Saviour
whether the date is right or wrong
and knowing that it spawned a million songs
The Saviour healed and fed the poor
Walked on water and did miracles of many score
He preached a peaceful hopeful dream
Was convicted crucified and rose in blinding light
He had to have been born on some holy night
So why not under snowy star studded silent light
I will still believe this is the night.

I think I saw that on 'Pimp My Ride' this morning, then.

No, wait, that was a Ford Escort that they put a BMW front/rear clip on.

Humbug

That is a cross between a Gibson Hummingbird and a beetle back mandolin. Seen at garage sales in deep Appalachia, wonder how Al got one and why is he advertising it on here at Christmas?

It's 12:01 AM here Christmas morning and I am hoping Al has gotten the spirit, do you suppose he is being visited by ghosts of guitars past, present and future?

Gotta go, some fat red suited idiot is trying to break into my house down my chimney with a big bag of what I suppose are burglar tools. OK, I'm back, I hit him with a 10 gauge load of rock salt right in the butt as he headed back up the chimney. Boy did he leave fast, those reindeer sounded like jets on afterburner as they climbed 10,000 feet in under 10 seconds. The sonofagun dropped his bag on his way up the chimbly, now I seem to have thousands of toys that I can sell on Ebay. If any of you have children that didn't get anything from Santa, check Ebay, my prices are right on.

Bailey (Bah Humbug, I got two of those I'm selling on Ebay, mine are better than Al's) ;) :p

"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night" that's what he said as he flew out of sight.

Thanks Tony

As you might guess:

I'm getting nuttin for Christmas
Wifey and kiddies are mad
I'm getting nuttin for Christmas
Cause I aint been nuttin but bad

Ancient country song, can't remember the artist or singer, "artist" might be too generous a description.
