Well the first flight of the XP-47B was May 6 1941, and the final delivery was the N model P-47 Thunderbolt in September 1945. Wait this is a WW2 airplane, I am in the wrong group. :D :D :D

Ovation had the Thunderbolt on their price list in 1987, 88, and 89.

There you have it with the addition of the beginning years. I was in NC from 82-84 and this was designed down there and the protos built as well. The first were probably in 85. I think the 89 date for the last is probably pretty good. We bought Hamer in 88 and in the last year about 50 or so T-Bolts were done in grafic finishes, snakeskin and dragon skin. Nice guitars. These in hind site should have been made offshore from the beginning. They would have been more successful if they were half the price. Let's face it, it is not a primary guitar, it's your 3rd or 4th.

Exactly why I got one. They look really cool, sound pretty decent, and is the prefect guitar to let my "less talented" but no less enthused guests play when they come over.

I have been unable to locate any serial number type information. Did these have numbers?

Tonight I saw an Alaskan history on the History channel and in discussing the WWII Aluetian campaign they reported the disasterous destruction of the troops from a storm they called a WILLAWAH with winds up to 190 MPH. Where have I heard that storm title before?
