Location: Victoria BC | Hi..I found this site by accident while cruising the net.Looks Cool!!
I have been playing Ovations as my acoustic instrument for about 7 years(guitars for about 20 years)...starting with a balladeer and moving up to a CE778 I bought in 1998.It is still my main guitar.
Great sound out of these!
Lately I have been recommending their Korean Ovations as good cheap instruments to beginners who ask for my opinion.
I am looking forward to chatting and trading musical idea's with you all. |

Location: Ft. Lauderdale, Florida | Mine needed some work to set up but it is easy to play now... Frets need to be surfaced and recrowned and action lowered at the nut and saddle... After that it played like a thousand bucks!!! Looks nice too...
The low price was exactly why I tried it... I would imagine the "Applause" would respond to teaking as well as the Celebrity line... I just wanted the headstock to say OVATION, NOT Applause.
Another reason I went with the Celeb. was because the bowl is the same as used on "Made in USA" Ovations, except for there newest models w/LX features, labeled That is a USA upgrade, that is fairly new, not sure how new, though... anybody know???
As you probaly know, the Applause And Celebrity lines are made in KOREA...

Welcome to the board, Korean made Ovations are a good place for guitar players to start, I would even recommend yhem for gigs as they play great plugged in and they are very well made for a low priced guitar.
If you like your Ovations, you came to the right place. We are dedicated fanatics and seldom show much restraint except when Christmas is near and our wives are looking over our shoulders, excuse me, "Yes dear, I WILL take out the trash again, and Al has a nice deal for someone as lovely as you."
