i didn't want to post this under the fret wear topic, but i wondered if anyone here has experience with stainless steel fret wire. in theory it sounds like great stuff, but only a few manufacturers use it, like parker fly.

www.warmoth.com sells it in several styles

they say, no worse than nickel-silver to work, but of course they're selling it....

from my understanding, its a bit harder to bend (to match the radius of the neck), a bit harder to file and sand, a bit more to polish

not overly so, just a little more difficult to work with

some say its brighter, but then again some say its not
