Location: Converse, Texas | You mandolin players out there -- what stand do you use to rest your prized mando on? I was at Sam Ash today and, of course, thjey didn't have any mandolin stands, so I went to the orchestra department and tried out a violin stand. It worked, but the darn thing is $50!!! Interesting thing -- the sales people looked at me like I had the plague when I tried it out on my mando! |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I just took a cheap-o stand and cut down the length of the upper tube. Works great for ukulele, so I assume would also be fine for mando.

Location: Toronto | Hey Hizz - I'm using a violin (or rather a fiddle) stand! It was only about $25 and very well constructed. I can even hang the 1/4" cable on the bow holder!! |

Location: Scotland | I use these for Mandolin. I also sell'em but you'll find them cheaper in the US. Yes, that's my book mando in the pics. Not ideal for home, but great for gigs.

I kinda like that one, that might make me stash my case and hang my mandolin on it between sets. The price is a little high maybe but if it works it saves an expensive mandolin, I'd rather hang from a mike stand than a flimsy base. |

The Comfort Cradle CC-04 violin/mando holder attaches to a music or mic stand, has no "footprint," so assuming you have a stable stand, it keeps it off the floor and out of the way. Street price $11.75 +/-
The Ingles SA20 "Sho-all" violin stand is quite stable, low center of gravity, and aesthetically pleasing. Street price $18.50 +/-
