Location: south east Michigan | I have just scratched the surface of what my Korg PXR4 is capable of. I was able to lay down a base vocal/strumming track then add a finger-picking track with some effects. In just a couple hours I recorded "It's All Been Done", "Looking Out My Back Door", "Can't Get It Out Of My Head", and my current guilty pleasure, "Secret Agent Man". Yeah, they have some glitches but I'm still geeked about it.
This will really help because I'm either going to have to tighten up my chops or get real good at missing a beat at the same place every time.
Question please: The recorder has a switch to choose "hi" or "low" input when I plug a guitar directly in. They say low is for single coil pick-ups. What setting would I use for my AD-II and my Breadwinner with the older style pick-ups?
There is so much to learn on this thing but I decided to not let it get the better of me. |

Location: Asheville, North Carolina | You are correct sir! Recording is very rewarding and artistically creative. Painting a musical picture...but as you are finding its work and takes time to get it right. I use a Digitech 8 track GNX4 with Cakewalk Guitar Tracks 2 for mixing and Cakewalk Pyro or Nero software for burning. |

Location: NC | You guys are way too high tech........i use a pocket recorder by placing it in front of the amp and hitting record with my left hand and when done hitting stop with same hand or maybe the right! Hey.........it's all I have right now, and it's not like I am that damn good yet!

Location: Zion, Illinois | I'm still learning how to use my Zoom MRS-802CD. So far I've worked my way up to being mediocre, but I'm having fun getting there. I've found tricks that help my vocals sound out in front. Of course if you heard me sing you would tell me to learn some tricks to sound way in back ;)
I was playing around with a recording of me playing "Hey Jude". It wasn't very good, but I did something that was fun and will add to my collection of tricks later. I remembered what 10cc did on "I'm not in love", multi-tracking their voices many many many times. I tried added "oohs" during the 2nd verse. I did maybe 12 - 14 overdubs and bounces, then blending them in ever so slightly; sounded surprisingly good.
