Hi all,
As a new member I dont know if this site is out of my league! Im a very average guitar player and play at home as a hobby. I recently bought a celebrity cco24 and was wondering if this model was a good first ovation buy? Any thoughts welcome..

Play it, daily, for six months. Make sure it has had a good set-up to optimize its playing characteristics. Paraphrasing what one of our esteemed members has opined earlier, "If you close your eyes, play it, and it talks to you, it's probably the right guitar."

Celibritys are OK
Lots of average guitar players here, I'm definately in that camp.
Like that steamed up guy said, play it till it talks to you.

Marti No League here? Just some guy's who, like you, like their Ovations.

I have been playing for some time but am still a hobbiest that is working on the stage? And there are a bunch of guy's from all over the musical spectrum in here.

I just bought a CS 247 celebrity for my Daughter. Do not have it yet, but you can bet, I will give it an accurate review just as soon as I do.

Love what you play.
Play what you love.

I have an CC026, if i remember correctly. I love it. I'm borrowing my buddies cutsom Elite ofr a week to see if I might buy it, and my own Celeberty is holding it own compared to it. I'd say the Celebs are great buys!!!

Celebrity models are d#$n good workhorses and exceptional bargains. Some really shine. I'm just at the don't-golf-or-own-a-fishin-boat-where-do-i-want-to-spend-my-kids-inheritance-why -not-guitars-mid-life-pre-crisis stage and there are so many excellant instruments available.
When I realized my golf score, bowling score and IQ were all the same number I decided to get back into music.

I own a Celebrity CC01 and I used to own a CS247. I think Celebs are pretty nice guitars for the money.

Hey northcountry. Your daughter will love the CS247. The green quilt is really nice. The only reason I got rid of mine was to make room for a Balladeer 1771...or 1771LX...or 1771...aarrgh!!! I can't decide!!!

OK That CS 247 came today for my Daughter! I am impressed with the newer electronics! I am am even quite impressed with the cleaverness of opening up the whole thing to take out the battery? Smart, Smart, set up there. The looks are incredible! Quilted maple top and the headstock has the matching quilting! Outstanding! Your right Tony! Outstanding workmanship! I hate to say. This has the mid depth bowl so the sound is actually better than I thought it would be! Acoustically it is not quite up to the elite nor certainly any of the other USA Ovations. But for a medium priced guitar (I got it for $510) It is good enough for her to grow into for many years before she may want a more rich sound. I would say it is close to the sound of my old Shallow Bowl Elite? but it has a tinty kind of sound acoustically speaking. Electronics make it sound as good as my elite, if I remember right? It has been some time since I played anything other than these Adamas's????

for what it's worth A good investment. The looks alone will keep this guitar worth near what I paid in the future. Randy

Thanks for the review Randy. My CC024 has the natural quilt finish, looks good eh?
Not knowing to much about ovations I now feel a lot happier with the feedback on this model. I will be in touch again when the time comes to upgrade or just buy another model. Thanks again..
