This is like the 3rd or 4th time this guitar has been posted and no one ever seems to bid on it.

What's wrong with it? Priced to high for a II?

This is the 3rd time it's been listed. The first time it was priced almost double it's worth. The second time it was lower but still too high. This time, it looks about right.

Can someone edumacate me... This looks like a II because of the neck and bridge, but two-knob pre-amp? Something just doesn't look right about this guitar, but I don't know enough to place it.

The early Adamas 11 guitars had the same 2-knob stereo electronics as the Adamas 1, as did the early Elites. It looks legit to me. The only real differences between the early Adamas 1 and 2 are cosmetic, except for the fact that the fundamental frequency wasn't checked on the 2.

Temp's right. It looks fine. Weren't the tops on the A II's the rejects from the A I's? And still damned good?

Don't think they were rejects. As I understand it, and correct me if I'm wrong Bill, the 1's had the bracing individually adjusted to get the fundamental frequency within a certain range, this was then included in the serial number. The 2's weren't hand-tuned. Remember that Adamas 11 we played at Wong's, blew away all the Adamas 1's in the room.

ok what happened in the early days was this.

The tops that did not meet spec (which was a very rigid spec at the time, weight, and frequency response etc were not used for Adamas I and then put on a pile. When they wondered what they could do with them they came out with the Adamas II. after those were used up, then they built just Adamas II tops which did not have the weighted braces etc. Still great guitars
