Location: Phoenix, AZ | I'm trying to decide between the single stand with the fixed head (GS414B) or the single stand with the folding head (GS415B). Any advice? Will the folding head be more prone to wearing out? Is it just another moveable piece to break? Is the fixed head still easy to move when folded up? Thanks. |

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | I've had the one with the "folding" head for a while now and it works great. (If it is the same one you are talking about) It is the one that locks the neck of the guitar to the stand right under the head. The only thing I had to get used to was lifting the guitar up and off with the lock instead of just grabbing and pulling it off the stand. Hope this helps. |

They are a little more bulky to transport, but since nobody has been calling for me to tour with them lately this is hardly a problem. I have never seen the ones with the folding heads but I imagine they are OK although maybe less durable than the fixed ones. Just a guess. |

It's gotten a lot of use (and abuse) just about every weekend. So far, so good . . .
Y'just have to give it a little extra care.
I always put mine into a small, seperate stand bag before I put it into my huge main duffle bag that holds mic stands, speaker stands and such, just to keep the heads from getting tangled up onto something else.
If you're not gonna be taking the stand in/out alot, get the fixed-head . . . . why tempt fate?
My main vocal mic stand is a big ol' heavy chrome Atlas boom stand with a hefty cast iron base (and about 15 additional lbs. of barbell weights added). VERY stable. I'm considering removing the double guitar head assy. from the Hercules stand and grafting it onto my mic stand.
. . . gimme a little extra "floor space" at gigs. |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | I've got the same one as cliff. It is very valuable on stage. Tonight I went to pick it up and put it in the car to take to rehearsal and pinched my thumb in the mechanism. OUCH! :eek:
Rehearsal was good none-the-less.
Bag to put it in is in order.
