Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | Went to the Philly guitar show yesterday. I was dissapointed. I only spotted 3 O's and 1 Adammas, among the various vendors. However, there were no Taylors and maybe a few Martins. Just a poor showing for acoustic guitars in general. The're were quite a few vendors selling their own brand of Arch-Top guitars for $8,000 to $15,000 a pop! A lot of old gibson electrics seemed to be the most prevelant item. Most dissapointing was I didn't see Al there.

Location: Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey | I went as well. I was blown away by the quantity of guitars, but I was able to zip through fast enough that Michele didn't get bored. Not much to grab my attention, but then, I wasn't there to buy.
Saw an interesting brand of acoustic guitar...Al would remember the name, I can't...anyway, the neck joint was adjustable-to raise or lower the action instantly with an allen wrench. It didn't tilt the neck in any way, just raised or lowered the height of the whole neck. Interesting concept, but I didn't like the sound of the guitar.
Saw Al, Sue and Miles there. Great company, as always!

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Hard to miss Al, he must have been in stealth mode. I was surprised at the number of Ovation solidbody and Storm series guitars. A Condor, Eclipse, Preacher, two Breadwinners and a Magnum that I can remember spread across 4 dealers. In prior shows I would celebrate when I would see just one solidbody.
Didn't see a lot of buying and selling and not real bargains, but there were a lot of guitars. Also ran into Timm Kummer (who's interview with Al you can find in the members area) and several other folks I did not expect to see. |

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | Johnny, I also played that acoustic with the quick neck adjustment feature. How bout the strings being attached over the width of the top of the guitar, to give more sound vibration. Each individual string was anchored to the top 5 inches from the bridge, spread out across the top. That was wild. I agree, it didn't sound all that great, course I'm biased toward O's.

Location: Converse, Texas | AT the Dallas Guitar Show this past summer, there were less than 20 Ovations at the whole show. VERY disappointing. Not sure what the marketing guys are doing! Dallas would have been a good market. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I heard that a Flying Vee went for 125,000. There were Bursts for 2-250,000 that didn't sell. 50's Fenders for 25-40. I think that much of the buying and swapping was between dealers and not so much the public maybe? |
