That means I have to start rounding up the pack Oryx on White Sands during the mating season. Did you ever get between a 1000 lb animal with 6 foot horns and his desired mate with nothing but a lariet to save your ass. I tried it once and was dragged up and down the range for two weeks before I could safely drop the rope. When you've seen one Oryx mating dance the next 50 or so are boring as hell, especially when the perpertrator keeps an eye on you in case you try to escape, the SOB thought he was the Oryx version of a porn star, pawing and preening after each act and waving those 6 foot horns at me as if he was going to do to me with those horns what he had just done to that hot bitch female. I finally figured out I was being used as he had found out the females were turned on at the sight of him dragging a humanoid around by a rope, they thought I was his pet, sorta like a hooker walking her poodles to get attention.
Go back to March when they are just getting over winter.

Not only that, but my 50th birthday is in July... and I've already got permission to get myself a 12-string! |

Phew! For a bit there, I thought we'd have to play with our Ovations. Viper for the tee shots, S/S for the long irons, mid-depth for the 5/6 irons, deep bowl for the 9 and wedge, and the applause 3/4 s/s as a putter.

I've already got permission to get myself a 12-string!
Can't you issue some sort of bench order for MizHonor to relinquish control of the family pants back to you? :D |

how about puting a documented foto story of a factory tour in the members area? I've seen the fotos in from the 2004 tour, but without descriptions what and whom you can see - they are just memories for participants.
Im really interested in how they put some wood and plastic together to make such wonderful instruments. |

well I talked to Rick Hall last week and the tenative date is June 24. If this is the case I will not be able to attend. There is a chance Rick may move the date one week forward or back.
For the first 2 events I made the date unfortunately it is no longer in my hands to do it so I have no control. The downside to losing control of that I cannot tell you anything confirmed until it is given to me. I hope to get an updated e mail this week. |

If that still doesn't move him, gently point out what a public relations nightmare would ensue, including that which results from PETA folks who know that llamas in mauve wearing berets is clear cut animal cruelty. |

You will be sorry is what I can see almost 3000 people mouthing as they read this message.
Ultimately the way my life has been going the past 6 months, I will go with the flow. Sometimes business gets in the way of pleasure.
I am looking into orgainzing a tour of the rock and roll hall of fame for our membership in april or may of next year also. So it may be just a fun filled year. LOL |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Al, a tour of Cleveland R&R hall of Flame sounds like a good thing. The Ovation tour won't be the same without you so they need to keep that in mind. Also I had heard that this year NO KIDS under 18. Is that still the case? Something about the insurance regulations? I heard from some of the employees that last year the kids were a problem climbing on equipment and stacks of guitar wood, essentially unsupervised. Yes their perents were right next to them but with the parent 100% facinated with watching the manufacturing process going on the kids were pretty much on their own. I wasn't there so my information is second hand. I can say that the guide line we used to use was that a person had to be of working age, 18, to go through on a tour. Yes exceptions were made but these were usually one parent and one kid or a group of boy scouts who were given a rather sanitized tour well away from the machines well away from anything that could hurt. And that was back before lawyers could advertise on TV.
This is the time to deal with it, any guidelines for this year?? |

As our society becomes more litigious, these issues come up. Unfortunately, there are some new rules in place for the next factory visit. I am not exactly sure what they are, the age limitation, or how the factory will have to deal with it but there will be some changes.
Let's face it, the Ovation and Hamer tours put us right in the working factory. Although every precaution is made to prevent injury to employees and guests accidents can happen and combine that with insurance regulations and guidelines and the whole things gets complicated.
As soon as I find out any specifics, I will pass along that information, but you are correct, some changes will be made. |

the date of the 05 factory tour will be friday june 17th.
The official ruling on kids is no one under 14 and all must be acoompanied by an adult.
Mark your calendar!!! |

I wonder if she'll buy that one? "Honey, you have just GOT to meet this guy named Al who LOVES muave shirts and berets!"
Gee... is there anything else to see in Connecticut that would help me sell this to my wife? :D |

If it works out for us to go, we'll try to set up a Saturday jam at our friend's barn - they live a few miles from the factory. |

Glad about the no kids. I damn near had a heart-attack as I'm normally not around anything that moves that fast on two legs, especially near equipment. My hats off to those that can handle kids be they your own or other peoples. |

I think the idea of an Alternative Shopping/massage/Whatever thingy for the non-interested Spouses came up.
How about a locally sponsored Sunday service? We could start an email list of interested participants and planners. A Potluck is probably inevitable, since when two or more are gathered there is must be a warm dish (a Presbyterian/Methodist/whomever joke)! |

Go to Stockbridge and see Alice's restaurant, the museeum of Norman Rockwell's paintings, the Mark Twain & Harriet Bleecher Stoe houses in Hartford. The Basket Ball hall of shame in Springfield. The covered bridge in Cornball CT, that little gitter factory. All kinds of good stuff. |
