One of the Delmore Brothers played a tenor guitar, and it was played on one of my CD's after cleaning the strings and restoring them so they could be played on a Delmore Brothers song on the original strings on the original guitar, it sounded great. Poway Music had a pretty good tenor guitar that I played with, but can't say I played on as I never got the hang of it, they were usually used for a jazzy chord melody, he also had a beautiful tenor banjo that was generally played in a jazz band, I wanted it but it didn't fit my style.

He would have had to redo the fingerboard too.
I bet this is just a primative octave bass. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | National made tenors which as aL said are a banjer scale. They also made plectrum guitars (4 strings) which were a longer scale, maybe like a 5 string banjer? I haven't been able to find one of those yet but the search continues. |
