Anybody seen the movie Ray? I'm sure it was sanatized for public viewing but it's still pretty good, some good tunes in it. Worth seeing.
In regards to the Beatles post I find it interesting to watch this movie and all that he was doing and remember that the Beatles were happeninng at the same time. It's a pretty wide world I guess.

That movie's definitely on my "short list" of new flicks to see . . . . just gotta find the time.

It looks interesting.

A friend of mine saw it in NYC last week and said it is a 'must see'. Jamie Foxx does a great job, from what I hear.

I got a chance to screen it about a month ago. Since most people don't read the intro credits or know "Charles" was Ray's middle name (I won't ruin it for you as to why he didn't use his given surname professionally), they'll miss that his son was a producer. Accuracy, warts and all, was what they were striving for. Much good insight into the man and his musical abilities. Highly recommended to music fans and movie fans alike. (Yes, it looks like Jamie Foxx is on the short list for Best Actor nomination. And, he may also get a Best Supporting nomination for Collateral.) Finally, yes, Jamie Foxx is really playing the piano in the film. He was trained as a classical pianist as a child.

Looks like Foxx has come up in the world from the egregiously bad "Booty Call."

"Egregious"? Nice to see I'm not the only character around here with "Dictionary Breath".
Yes, I saw the movie. It's wonderful. Viewing his story, as a mental health professional; Ray's life had very interesting dynamics. Remember, ALL behavior is motivated.

Sounds like a great movie, but I don't have to see it. I have observed Ray Charles's career for almost as many years as I have lived, and seen his great talent in every form of music from big band to country. Very sorry to see him go, but he sure did a lot while he was here.
