Does Cliff have a secret entrance to this? I hae heard people tell him that before but it was a different situation.....
Anyway, I've got #220 which is a blue wide neck acoustic. Nice guitar, not quite up to Cliff's slothead.
P2PH, what is your s/n and model number?

I get to enjoy one of the few 12 strings made in this time period. Does anyone know how many 12s
(1688) produced before 1980?

My guess less then 100... That is a wild guess.
Sam I think you have the first one and it's #213

#1058 ended 1979

I have it on the wall as art and... Pull down quick feel. Best sounding 12 "O" has made.

I have had the first prototype 12string adamas #12 and the preproduction # 33 adamas..The first adamas 12 string for sale was #213.Im not sure who has that one..Adamas #77 was to be the first adamas available for sale in stores.
The plan was that adamas 27-60 were to be givin out to artists only. Some wound up being shipped to stores and put up for sale.Ovation did try to get those back but never could round them up.Therefore some were available to shoppers at these music stores(Charlie cash music,Modern music,Ackermans and a few others).

Well 27-60, some were given to artists but some also were sent to stores for resale. They bought these. 77 started production up again. These ones had blind fingerboards. Did we ever establish when the inlays started? 220 has inlays. Maybe the first 50 or so which would be up to #125???

As far as 12 strings I have #1000 and it's a hoss. Painted a dark blue. We also made another dark blue adamas around then for Molly Ratschitt.

One or two if I recall correctly. I had them made. Must have been in a gold phase then. The silver ones are nice, I've still got a longneck and #10,000 Mandochellow. I think there aren't many of these either.
