Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | I wonder if Glen is still in jail in Arizona. I knew he played at a prison concert. Its hard to imagine Glen Cambell getting sent to jail. I think it was for actions as a result of booze and drugs. He is one hell of a guitar player, played on many hits before his breakthrough on the Smothers Brothers. I just could never picture him in trouble with the law. He always seemed so squeaky clean. He's one performer that I'd love to see have a major come back in his carreer. He certaintly has the talent.

Location: Australia | Glen Campbell is my favorite "country" artist but the guy's pushing 70, probably a little late for a comeback and why would he bother...... he never went away in the first place !
He always had that apple pie, clean cut image but even he'd admit it's far from the truth. |

Location: Denton, Texas | I'm going to see Glen Campbell perform at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, Texas next Tuesday. I'll let you guys know how he does. From the Glen Campbell fan club reports, he just does about an hour and a half worth of all his old hits. That's got to get old. I've wondered if he will add a new tune or two, we'll see. I've been a fan since around 1969 and got to admit he picks good tunes and songwriters and vocally can interpret a song about as well as anybody I've ever heard in my 65 years. His guitar pikkin' speaks for itself.

Location: Las Cruces, NM | Glen and I are pretty close to the same age, in my judgement he hasn't lost much in ability. Desire to travel and suffer discomfort is probably much less than it was years ago.
I have played for years and I still enjoy playing, I don't have much tolerance for posturing or faking or cheating anymore.

Location: Phoenix, AZ | He has his own theatre in Branson. He performs regularly both at this theatre and around his Phoenix home, and says he's happy with his current schedule. His primary interest is helping his daughter with her singing career. |

Location: SoCal | He sold the theater in Branson about 8 years ago, and when in Branson, has been performing with Any Williams, at his theater.
After so many years of entertaining, he can pretty much do whatever he wants, but most of his fans would like to see him do something that stretches his talents, vocally and guitar-wise. At 71, Willy Nelson still pushes the envelop. Be nice to see Glen give it one more push. |

Location: Sugar Land Texas | Interesting reading all your comments! I too am a big fan of Glen's and am amazed at his virtuosity on guitar! Another picker I admire quite a bit is Jerry Reed..another fantastic guitarist that is not given enough credit..I wonder what kind of guitars Jerry plays? |

Location: SoCal | Last I heard, Jerry had some physical problems and wasn't picking much these days.
When he was playing, he played a Godin nylon string on stage as well as a Tele. I've got a dvd from 1992 with him and Chet Atkins. Chet's playing a beautiful Gibson Studio Classic nylon string and Jerry's playing his old beat up Baldwin. |

Location: Denton, Texas | Glen Campbell's performance at Bass Hall, Fort Worth, Texas was terrific in every way. Vocally and on guitar. He started the show playing his Fender Strat doing "Try A Little Kindness" and broke the bass E string at the end of the first verse. He continued on, without missing a beat and picked up the Hamer 12-string to finish the song. That threw the song sequence out the door so while his road mgr changed the strings on the Fender, they had to wing it until the guitar was returned about 20 minutes later. Glen coordinated with TJ about which song was next and they appeared to rearrange the tune list on the fly. Of course the Hamer 12 and Ovation Viper performed flawlessly. :) |
