Location: atlanta | Kaki's schedule has changed, and the Dallas show has been canceled. Several appearances have been added in Austin, including a clinic on Oct. 9 at 1pm at Heart of Texas Music:

Her new website gives all the details about the events added in Austin.

She has just booked two shows in Atlanta (10/20 and 10/24), so she'll be back under popcritic's roof for a few days.
Best to everybody--

Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada | I haven't seen or heard Kaki play but, based on the descriptions in various OFC threads, she does a lot of two-handed tapping on the fretboard - correct? I'm just wondering - was Stanley Jordan one of her influences? |

Location: atlanta | Duncan, she would be the first to tell you that Preston Reed taught her how to tap at the Swannanoa guitar camp in 1998.

She knows Stanley Jordan, having opened for him in a 5 night gig at Seattle's Jazz Alley in July 2003. She was most impressed with SJ.
Kaki knows many other fingerstyle techniques as well as tap. On her new album, one song sounds to me as if Adrian Legg is playing.
She likes to tour Canada, and has appeared in Victoria, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Vancouver. Hopefully she'll get to Ottawa next year.
Best--

Too bad about the Dallas show - maybe I can make it down to Austin for the clinic.
Thanks |
