I was wondering...just how many pounds of force are there on an average steel string acoustic? I know string diameter can make a difference, but what is a good ballpark figure?
(Before someone else says it, I will...A good ballpark figure? Tigers 4 - Yankees 3)

D'Addario has all the string tensions on its website, for just about all of its sets. The differences are interesting to note.

Let's see if I remember this one. An acoustic lite set is about 150 pounds pull. Did I get that right?

I like CW's answer. You have to be a math major to fiqure out the info at Daddario's site.
The only newtons I know about are the fig kind.

I remember it as 150 for acoustic, 110 for a classical and 130 for an electric (10 set)
A medium acoustic was 160-170 and a 12 was 285.

Has anyone done the math of the D'ad site, do these numbers sound right?

Think about 130 for 10's, about 160 for 12's and 185 for 13's

It varies by set... depending on the core wire.
