Looking for one file, I found another. I came across two Ovation catalogs, the owner manuals for both my Balladeer and Breadwinner, and the warranty card for my Breadwinner. One catalog has mostly pencil sketches of people like Gabor Szabo(?),Bobby Goldsboro, and of course Glen C.
The other is more in depth with specs and history.
Here is something new....my Breadwinner now has a model number. It is not on the guitar but it is on the warrenty card. Model # 1251-6 Ser# 906.
I'm sorry I do not have the sale receipts. They must have been in my Dad's files.

Wow, that was a nice find :) You may find the sales papers yet, ya never know. Or maybe you'll find something else while you're looking.

I read though my new treasure before dozing off last night. It made me remember just why I went with an Ovation. These old catalogs have enough words strung together to accually make long paragraphs. They are very detailed in describing the design and construction features. One whole page is a reproduction of the U.S. patent given to the bowl design.
As I sit in my creaking rocking chair on the porch, I think about the good old days when information was not given in condenced, 5 second sound bites. Hey you kids..keep of the gol dern grass!!! sorry.... Are the masses just not interested in details anymore?
I found some bad news also. It seems like I never filled out and mailed either of the warrenty cards. Maybe I'll fill them out and mail them today. Or....maybe I can go on E-bay and sell my 33 year old guitars with a new factory warrenty!! ;) (never gonna happen)
