Ernie Ball, 74, died Thursday at his home in San Luis Obispo (CA) after a lengthy illness. According to the obituary - Ernie Ball items are sold in more than 5,000 music stores in the U.S. and exported to more than 70 countries.

Sorry to see him go, a guy who made great contributions to our industry. I met him at GC once when we had our palm prints put in the rock walk hall of fame. The third guy with us was Ted McCarty, another giant in the industry.
