Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Saw a new country band today from Atlanta called Sugarland. Man are they hot. Great 3 part harmonies. They have a girl singing lead, another playing guitar and a guy playing guitar part of the time and Ovation Mandolins the rest of the time. I don't know much about mandolins but one was larger with a natural finish and the other one was cherry burst and look a little smaller. They have a song that's playing in some markets now called "Baby Girl" that's good but I can't say I heard a bad tune in their entire set. Check 'em out if you get a chance. I tried to get back to talk to them and see why they wern't playing Ovation guitars too but couldn't get thru the crowd. |

Yeah, this is a good sounding band. They play Taks and Martins for guitars, and Ovation for mandolin. They will be opening for Clint Black this Fall, and were in Madison today (Sept. 5th) for Taste of Madison. They also are an opening act for Reba M.

Good tip! As a mandolin player and country fan I'll be on the lookout for this band. Sounds like a good upcoming group, and smart if they play Ovation Mandos, maybe they will try new LX guitars and become superstars.

Location: Fayetteville, NC | I was watching VH-1 Last Night and The New Season of The Sureal Life showed Charo At One Point Playing and Ovation Guitar. Goos Shot Of the Guitar from the sidewher you could note the round-Back Bowl, Rossete and headstock. Looked liek an acoustic only Balladeer. later in the show she was playing a Classical(Non-Ovation) Flamingo style. Pretty funny show. |

believe it or not Charo is a killer flamenco guitarist. I believe you saw a folklore or country artist nylon string.
that struck my eye also. Kudos for some TV time for Ovation!!! |

You're right, I remember it was a Slot-head right after I read you're post. She is truly amazing. |
