| Regarding my last posting about tuning keys. If I go with pearloid, does Ovation use Schaller from thier stock? or would they put another brand on there? And last. If you had the choice would you go with the carved walnut bridge or not carved? and why? Well, what do you say Ovation lovers....... Randy |

But everyone likes something different: I personally don't care for the carved bridges and headstocks on the older Adamas. I think the smooth surfaces just look cleaner and "up-to-date."

Ovation uses ping you will need to get the pearloid buttons from the service department for them to fit correctly. |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Hi Randy. All of Ovation's production guitars come with Ping tuners now (even the Adamas). The Schaller buttons DO fit on Ping tuners, and the Schaller pearloid buttons are slightly rounded on the corners where the Ping buttons are sharp and IMHO more cheap, plasticy looking. If you simply must have Schaller gear, call Kim or John and have a talk. I must say that, while there is nothing wrong with gold Ping tuners, my '02 Custom Legend 12str came with Pings and I was expecting Schallers. I was and am sort of bummed. I don't think anyone makes tuners as good as Schaller. John <>{ |

Location: Scotland | Yep, Waverly, They cost a relative fortune & to the inexperienced eye look cheap, but if you want lightweight beautifully-engineered, smooth & accurate vintage-style open-geared tuners, nothing comes close. Other than that it's Schaller M6's. Waverlys just look wrong on Ovations, but I reckon their slot-head versions would look just fine on a Josh White. |
