Location: SoCal | Got in a tenor uke (UAE148-5) today through Al.
While taking out the packing box, Suzie found it, said "this is cute", strummed it, then said "this is mine."
Looks like a baby Adamas.
Maybe she'll let me borrow it ;) |

Location: SoCal | I am so embarrassed...but, I must confess, it's all Al, Miles, and Bill's fault!! :p
Al and Miles created OFC.
Bill took over the wonderful work of his father and staff and he maintained the high standards during difficult times for all guitar makers. The support from the Service Dept. (Kim, John, and staff) is superb. There are so many distinct models and types of instruments...I just can't stop!! (Have a "shinny bull" 12 and, hopefully, an Adamas 12 coming in.)
Besides, it is a buyer's market!!
I do have the Preacher Deluxe 12, Tornado, Typhoon, GS, and Les Paul. We'll see. ;) |

Location: SoCal | Yes, she is. Started with an inexpensive classical (small body, concave fretboard, nylon), then the 4861 Balladeer shallow, then the Country Artist, then the Parlor (1997-N.) Parlor allows a small woman to have the proper playing position (I'm slow, but I learn.) Parlor is the only guitar she plays when she has time - American and London Guilds, Saks trunk show, piano, Korg, learning violin, short neck bass, putting up with me, etc.
Course, now she has the uke ('G' tuning like guitar except 4th str 'D' is higher than 'G' - tenor guitar is typically 28", baritone is 30" in length; this tenor uke is about 29" - we'll see; this way she doesn't have to learn new chords.) Heck, even have a cheapie 'A' style mando tuned Nashville - guitar tuning, better than capoing up a 12-string for that occassional need. MM68 is standard mando tune.
As to the repair of parlor, I have shown it to several individuals who know and play O's. Until I point it out, they aren't even aware of the missing "ears." The neck is oiled walnut so not like breaking an ear on the catalyzed polyester that is so hard to repair. May send back for repair eventually but no hurry. |

The more I think About it, You and Sue should work up a Uke Duet for the OFC Gathering and jam in June. I'm sure it'll be a performance that everyone will remember for years to come. :D |

Paul Moody seemed to be doing well with his uke at the SoCal get-together.
Any kazoo players out there to accompany?? |
