I ordered my second "O" - a lefty 1777-5 (or "L777-5") Legend with OP40 preamp!

Was also interested in the new LX models, but my decision was made easier by the fact that Ovation is around 2000 LX's behind current orders; sometime after that they'll get around to making some lefties! :(

I've read pros and cons about the new LX's and the new OpPro preamp; some people really like 'em; some don't...would love to hear some opinions from those here who have (or have heard both - it was a bummer that the OFC was down right when I was looking for players' opinions!).

I did get to play a couple of each (right-handed of course) and did not "hear" enough difference to wait for a new LX

(of course, I was comparing Elites to Legends, so it was skewed).

If LX's appear to be desirable a couple years down the road, maybe I'll be in the market for an Elite model...

...for now I must wait patiently (...three months...) while they build my guitar! :)

They're all good guitars. This last weekend I played my 1537 Elite against Adamaii, LX's and others. While there are different sounds, I certainly didn't feel like I had less of a good sound (not sure how to state that). I may buy an LX one day and maybe an OFC Adamas. But until then, I've got a great guitar (well, a number of them, but we're talking about the 1537).

Thanks for the encouraging words.

The worst part about being left-handed wasn't that I couldn't get an LX; it was that they had a GORGEOUS 2003 Collector's Edition hanging there, priced at around $2,100 list, MARKED DOWN TO $1,295!! It also sounded and played beautiful...and did me absolutely no good! I don't usually let my "disability" bother me much, but there are times when it's a pain...

Switch?

I made attempts to work out chords on a friend's sinister-strung guitar. Maybe if I was on a deserted island for a great length of time!

Here is a sort of Leftorium that might be of use.

Excellant choice in guitars. Just one of many flavors.

Mikey, you will like your guitar! I have a less-than-one-year-old 1777-4 and it is my axe of preference for most things. I don't particularly miss it not being an LX.
