Has anyone used this pedal with their Ovations? I'm looking for a pedal for my O. Which would you all recommend and what do u all use with ur Os?

Location: Minden, Nebraska | Ditto Paul T. I have used an AD-5 for several years and have found nothing better for the money. The AD-5 has been around long enough that there are used ones to be found for good prices. |

Location: United Kingdom | What is so good about the AD-5? It's harder to control isn't it? And the fact that it's not a pedal, does it make it a lil tad harder to turn on and off?
The AD-3 has chorus and the AD-5 does not right?
What can the AD-5 do that the AD-3 can't? and vice versa?

Location: Scotland | Matt, The AD5 isn't a pedal as such, it's intended to be a stereo active DI box with the addition of onboard EQ, digital effects & feedback control. The only thing that really needs to be switched on & off is the chorus & maybe the reverb, and this is done with separate non-latching footswitches. Amongst other differences the EQ on the AD5 is far more flexible, it offers a much wider range of patching applications, it has an independant input with the correct impedance for magnetic pickups, it has an insert point for additional processors. Both the AD5 and AD3 have chorus & reverb. Some users will find the auto feedback notch on the AD3 useful, the AD5 feedback notch is manual but I find it less invasive than the AD3. As I said, there's nothing wrong with the AD3, but the AD5 is a better unit and worth the extra investment. You can find AD5's used in the UK for less than £100. |
