The Fishman is an under-saddle pickup, and of it's type is an industry standard. The Ovation Trubalance (which I believe is no longer available on current production) the Ovation CP100 Thinline, the original Ovation Hi-Output & the Baggs LB6 are different in that the pickup & saddle are integral. This pretty much eliminates string-to-string balance problems which can plague under-saddle pickups unless they are installed with absolute precision. They also tend to sound less "quacky" than under-saddles. I have owned Ovations with all 3 pickup types and they all work fine, though the original Ovation pickup is still way ahead of anything else IMHO.

I just placed an order for an 1867 Legend and the web site says it has a True Balance pickup. Were there any problems with that particular setup? Thank you by the way for the info
