Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Heard the 2nd installment of this series on NPR's Morning Edition this morning. It's an 11 part series airing on Friday's, you can listen to the earlier ones on-line.
Part 2 is about country Guitar and covers the history of the guitar. Some neat stuff. They talk about Merle Travis, Maybelle Carter, etc. And have snippets of some great guitar pickin'
(no mention of what Ovation technology has done for the guitar, though :) )
Listen to it here:

Location: Pacific Northwest Inland Empire | That was a great program this AM. Thanks for the media alert, Paul. I hate to make a plea for the obvious, and this doesn't need to morph into a "pledge drive", but if you like this type of educational entertainment, support your local PBS/NPR station. It really is relatively cheap. Just catching the great guitarists on "A Prairie Home Companion" is enough for me. | |
