If a guitar is a factory second, does it still have a serial number or some sort of way to recognize that it's off quality?

Thanks

I think factory seconds will have a number "2" or the word "second" ingraved on the back of the headstock. Factory referbs usually say "Facrory Reconditioned" stanmped on the label nside the bowl. I'm not sure about what happends to the serial numbers. My guess would be that it stays intact. Dave

On my old beater Celeb, it has a "2" and "used" stamped in the back of the headstock (not ink, but indented in the wood). It still has normal serial/model number markings.
