Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | :D FINALLY! Saturday I picked up my Legend from the repair shop. I dropped her off Saturday, Feb. 22nd,at 1400 hours and 45 seconds. Got her back Saturday, April 5th 10:45 and 22 seconds (Not that I missed her or anything ;) ) !
Sure I was somewhat dissappointed, but I went into it knowing my repairman wasn't a miracle worker either. She has a bit of a ridge where both sides of her soundboard raised when she cracked (from below the B-string at the bridge, to the base of the face). The repairman did the best he could to get her flat, but it just wasn't meant to be. He did a very nice job applying a Lacquer coating over the crack, and blending it in perfectly with the rest of the face. I thanked him for his work, and I gladly paid the $50.00 doctor bill to bring my loved one home!
You know, I was really thinking my Balladeer was improving drastically in tone/richness,and contributed it to playing her to death since my Legend was in the hospital... but I just forgot how sweet that Legend sounds.
Good to have her back in my arms!
Like my wife, she may have gained a wrinkle or two, but the song of her heart, and the calm of her voice, is ever sweet music to my soul!

sometimes it is nice to keep the old "wife" and not trade her in for a new young trophy "bim" but what the hell do I know I sell gear for a living. |

Those "wrinkles" are something that you go thru with both wives and guitars. They constitute "life" and "experience", and when you go thru them together, they become precious. Trade them either in on a new, unblemished one, and the bond will never be the same. |

Good to hear that your guitar is back. My Custom Balladeer came back from the shop last month. It took the past few weeks to get used to the "scars" but she sounds sweet and plays great. Nothing stays the same forever, just look in the mirror. |
