Location: Florida | Well I just celibrated my 45th birthday on the 28th,and decided to buy myself a birthday present. I just ordered my brand new 1867 legend, black of course. It's been 20 years since I've played. I played for 12 years one night standers with the same band for 75 bucks a night. When I got married and had kids I had to make that dredfull decision. So I sold everythind right down to my fender rhodes and studio and quit cold turkey. That was 3 wives ago and for some reason I sat down at piano in the mall and started to play like I never stopped. My wife of today never knew. So I said to myself self it's time to pick it up again. I always wanted to really sit down and pick the guitar not just hammer rock and roll. I want to thank every one in hear because you helped me make this decision. I let you know how it goes. I got a real good price. I'll take some pitures when I get it. Thanks to everyone.

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Congratulations on the new purchase. I got my new Legend 1867 just three weeks ago (Blue Sparkle finish for me!). I still can't get over it :D
And I LIKE the shallow body, and have played it with the band, and everyone thinks it's a beauty and sounds sweet, and, and, and
I'm still working on posting my pics (too busy playing).
See what you OFC memebers have done!! |

I've got 15 years on you but the story is similar.
Got married in 68 and moved from NYC to Ct. Lost touch with the guys.
One of the last contacts was when they called and asked if I wanted them to stop by and pick me up to go to this jam somebody was having in some field in upstate NY.
I looked at the wife and told her it sure sounded like fun. She gave me that "Go Wither Stare" and the rest is history. I stayed home.
Just think I could have said I played at Woodstock. Not on stage but down in the mud. :D
This board and an Ovation guitar will really get the old juices flowing (wow that's not a pretty picture :o sorry)
Well anyway it's good to here you're getting back in the groove
I better stop now I keep aging myself.
BTW I kept the wife turned out she wasn't so bad. ;) We just celebrated our 35th.
Good luck...Mike |

I'm assuming that your wife doesn't read this board. |

Today 75 bucks don't go far, but you can have a lot of fun playing your Ovation at home or jammin' with friends. No need to give up a marriage to enjoy pickin'. I've made it through 45 anniverseries and got in some good pickin' along the line, I included my 2 sons in my bands as they learned to play and found lots of gigs that didn't involve drunken barflys in southern CA in the 70's, and lots that did as they grew up.
Have fun, this is a great board.

Location: 6 String Ranch | Paul, You are correct, she doesn't read this. Even if she did it wouldn't matter. I'm the boss in our family. I've got her permission to say so too. |

Location: Florida | It's not as bad as all that. I have 2 great kids and 2 great step kids all in college. My 1 son is a producer and has just finished an album to be released this summer. As for now. It's the right time for me to come back. I'll let everyone know how the transaction went and with pictures. Oh by the way I love my wife very much and I would not have changed a thing.
