Not sure that this is the right place to ask this question, but here goes.

I am trying to get as close as possible to the lead tone which Gary Moore uses in "Parissienne Walkways" and/or "Spanish Guitar"

The equipment which I am using is: GUITAR - Fender Strat (Mexican), but with Seymour Duncan pickups fitted. These give a warmer tone which is closer to a humbucking type sound.(I think that Gary is using a Gibson Les Paul here, but I'm not sure). AMPLIFIER is a Line 6 AX 212 "Tubetone" with a basic FB4 foot pedal.

I realize that the equipment is pretty basic, but the amp is so full of gadgetry, that it should be able to produce something which is close enough.

Anybody got any ideas?

Sorry, Bro...I don't have your answers.

Love Gary's bluesy stuff though, and he generally gets AMAZING tone!

Wondering if you've heard his new "SCARS" cd...I haven't but am curious, and heard it is a departure from his blues stuff, and heavier like his older stuff. Let me know.

All the best!

The new scars is too headbanging for me. The older blues tones aren't there. His last several have been going away from the "Still got the bules" feel. I think to get the sooouund you get a 59 lep paul and a marshall. A Hamer archtop would work nicely too.

Ok thats how you can tell a person is getting on in yrs when Gary Moore is thought of as music to head bang by.It's an ok disk more straight 4/4 rock than all blues there are a few good tracks. Not at all like the tired worn out sound of that still got the blues thing .
Sound like he plays more on the strat on this one.
