Ok, so years ago I has a Cadillac Green standard balladeer. Loved it, but later sold it, thinking "geez, I need a real guitar". Stupid me. Well, I'm happy to say I'm back in the roundback club--I just bought a 1978 Custom Balladeer in natural, deep bowl, ebony board, diamond inlays, all acoustic. The thing is like new except for one finish crack near the bridge--and I understand that a few finish cracks are marks of pride for vintage Ovation owners. I LOVE this guitar...the previous owner drescribed its tone as "full-bodied sparkle". Pretty accurate!

Mr. Balladeer, its hard to beat the sound of an old DEEP bowl Ovation. Glad you are back in the Ovation swing of things..Paul Hebert

Mr Balladeer

Also glad to see you on the board. My wife was born in Erie, although she grew up in Conneaut, OH. I went to school at Gannon college for a few years, while we were first married and living in Conneaut. My local paper here in Las Cruces, NM lists the temp and weather for Erie and I check it every day as it is the closest to Conneaut that I can find. Todays paper listed a high of 14 and a low of 9 degrees with some snow, that seems to be the weather I remember even though I left in 1962. While you are escaping the weather, you can stir up our buddy Russ in Puerto Vallarta, who is always bitching about the heat and humiditidy. Challange him to a trip to Erie in midwinter.
