Location: Madison, Wisconsin | Such a deal! Round trip from Dairyland USA for under $300. The first time I checked, months ago, tickets were like $485. Then I checked into staying over Sat. night and the costs fell to $350. That made the trip seem affordable. Last night, I checked Travelocity again and went back to returning on Sat. and got tickets for $297. I'm packing my toothbrush and picks as I write!
By the way, How may people are bringing their guitars? I wouldn't check my Legend but I don't know about carry-on. I suppose an axe could be considered a weapon  Seriously, will the airlines allow guitars in the overheads? |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | Sometimes. Your best bet is to call the airline ahead of time. I actually feel quite safe about checking my guitar these days, although I haven't traveled with one recently, I would check it. I used to try and bring it onboard in the past, and I always prepared for it to be relegated to the baggage compartment. If you are going to bring it onboard, you might have better luck if it's in a softcase. It just looks smaller that way, and can fit in the coat closet. Also, if the flight is not sold out, they will probably let you bring it on and strap it into the seat next to you. Of course, you can always buy it a childs ticket, but I'm not sure if you can do that anymore. Anyway, it's best to call and ask the airline what they recommend for the type of plane you will be flying. May be easier to just BUY ONE at the factory and have them ship it to your home for you after the tour. :)

Location: NJ | I'm planning on bringing my SlotHead "back home" for a visit in the hopes that maybe some of the "more seasoned veterans" (if there are any left) up there can offer some insight on it.
Fortunately, I'm driving up. I don't think I'd ever be able to fly with it unless I knew I could carry it on. |
