What's the difference between the OP24+ and the OP 30?? Besides the built in tuner, does the OP30 perform any better?

I have a Celebrity with the OP11, what is involved in an upgrade to one with the tuner?

I have compared the two, and the tuner in the op30 is much more responsive

Tuner aside, there's really no difference?

The main difference apart from the look is that they've chaged the frequency centres of the eq . The Op24 was bass 80hz, treb 10KHz,
mid400/shift 1k. The 0p30 is bass 60hz, which strikes me as a little low for a standard-tuned guitar, treble 15Khz and mid 450hz/shift 970Hz.

The other difference is that Ovation now has modular electronics in their guitars, making upgrades much easier. I would assume that they are planning to build all future electronics in this configuration in an attempt to induce people with older electronics to upgrade easily.

One advantage of the OP30 is that if the unit turns out to be faulty, you can just pop in another one. Not so easy to do with the OP24+.

However, the spring loaded battery box on the OP24+ made changing the battery a snap. With the OP30, it's a little more involved. You have to take the unit out, open the battery door and attach the battery to that wired battery clip. (Am I the only one that hates those things?)

The changing of the preamp may be easy but what about the actual pickup? It remains the same.
