i've seen drastic price cuts on american "O's" at ash. anyone have any info as to why? i almost bit the bullet but i'm not in the market for one. i prefer the older ones, especially the 80's models. yet, it was still one hell of a deal.

Don't let the new ones scare you off. There have been a lot of structual improvements in the past few years. A time will come when we look back and wish for these good deals.

slipkid, that's just it. i've lived long enough to say "i wish i did" many times. that's what keeps eating at me about these O's. i don't want or need one, but i know what a great guitar it is at a fraction of the cost.

gig, there have been some great deals on USA made O's for the past few months. The factory is moving SOME models to overseas production, and they have been blowing out the warehouse on those particular models. That may be what you're seeing on sale.

At those prices, there will never be a better value for your dollar in a new guitar. Ditto the 2007 Collectors that Al is selling. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

The future new offerings will be fantastic guitars, and I am hopeful that the overseas manufacture will be excellent on those guitars moved offshore. Don't take my post as doom and gloom. If you have any thought of "someday" buying a new Ovation LX or T series guitar, right now would be the time to pull the trigger if any stock is left.
