Note that he did not lock the thread. He just made his point.
Again... just MHO. Hopefully Al will post and clarify his position. |

slipkid has it right on.
I can tolerate people asking for help on items or prayers for loved ones etc etc etc but when it comes to this kind of stuff I feel it really should not be here.
so today we get a copycat dvd winder post
see what I mean???? |

A bit of a stretch perhaps but the guy in the vid clip played guitar in various bar bands for years but he wasn't makin it so he got that TV show going instead.
Moral of the story - if the music career doesn't work out you can always start up a fix it show for rednecks..lol |

Um, has it crossed anyones mind that maybe the term "redneck" is offensive to some people Ummmm, in light of the 'recent past' Olympics thread, one must wonder where the 'line' is.
I recently posted a response about 'crackas' in which I proudly included myself as one. Why? Because history is correct and the present PC perception isn't; an issue for others, not me! Ummmm, no 'back off' there...
I'm not calling anyone out here, just wondering where our post crosses a line. Ya'll know I make more fun of myself than any of ya.
As to OT threads, some of the shiite here is really funny/entertaining, but normally doesn't overwhelm the site, at least no more so than 'Who is your ?', 'What is your ?', 'Wax jobs?', etc.
The DVD rewinder was funny as hell!!!!
BTW, if anyone is EVER insulted/hurt while sober by one of my posts, please send me an email/PM. I will treat it with proper respect and make make the proper amends publicly.

Even tech threads are not immune. Here's one where some guy wants to know if a specific part will fit a specific application - there are a number of responses but so far no one has answered his question.

I like Red Green wherever he shows up.
"If they can't find ya handsome they should find you handy!"
That should make a pretty decent string winder with a little BFLG work! In both directions, BRILLIANT!
There exists an "OT" You Tube post around here somewhere that was all about burning up byts and time. |

I saw Tom Morello today, first time I ever saw him play acoustic. Very interesting. Even in upstate new york the kids are gravitating towards this kind of protest music. It reminds me of the protest music I heard in costa rica. Huddled with my girl, up in the cool coffee country, sipping wine. Seriously listening to every word about injustice. The times are ripe for it.

| Yeah, lets talk about music awhile.
Here's a clip. This guy is from South Ontario farm country where I come from. Not the most sophisticated stuff but it reminds me of home and I been going to too many funerals lately. The land is really flat and everything's far apart so anywhere you go there's cars in the driveway:

Perhaps an admin could remove the post for me.
Thanks
NB - I find the other site really confusing but maybe I'll look at it again. |

I was in the process of responding to three consecutive responses in this thread and thought that I might ought to check if there was a rational response to curb the true crap being dispensed prior to my own spewing.
Now back to our regular informative and fun site that I cherish! |

When we lived in North Carolina before the Neighbor was named Brighty White. He married a woman named Pinkey Green. And of course after the wedding she became known as Pinkey Green White. When we moved there Brighty was already passed and Pinkey was an older woman. They had a son and he had a color name too but I've forgotten what it was. |

| My wife tells me that there is a local solicitor with the surname of Wildgoose. Ms. Wildgoose is not listed in my legal directory but I just googled her name and she does exist; I remain hopeful that she will enter into a matrimonial alliance with someone by the name of Chase and that, in the spirit of levity, they will elect to hyphenate their last names. |
