Don't forget the -FIIKBIKOAB |

| The Adamas #7 is listed as "Beige" on the first generation Adamas guitars. I know becasue I have both versions of this #7 color. They are both great colors by themselves.... but it is not my first choice two have two bookend guitars in different colors?? I still lean toward the older Beige/Blue color as my favorite and for what it is worth as an opinion, many years after the fact, they should not have changed the earlier color. Ovation should have added the new #7 choice along with the rest.
For Sht's & Gigl's ....If anyone reading this happens to have a 1587-7 in the older beige/blue #7 and would like a beautiful 1587-7 in the newer whitish/blue I'd be very willing to trade even. No other color has gone through this change...to bad it had to happen to, what I consider, the best color ever made for these guitars.........

In real life it's a deep reddish brown. I'm not sure what the color code really means. |

Was there more than one finish color on the '87 Collectors? |

I leave for a day and this thread gets hairy. I like it better when the thread goes off topic.
OK I wil try to incorporate the info to this point in the first post and will post an edit notice when I have.
I'm also wonderin' where the BarnBurst designation is... |

Hmmm...don't see Amber Burst. Same question.
Stonebobbo as CWK suggested, I think the natural finsh on the '87C is "vintage natural" which was the same designation as -7 tan Adamas and -4 the clean natural... |

I guess the 87 was a -4 even though it had a tint. But yes, it did come in more than one colour. The other was -5. (The spelling is so Temp can understand) |

Are all of these colors valid for USA Built Models? Are the Celeb and Ovation color codes the same? |

Be sure to include -NB2 (Solid Red-Adamas) to that list!
That is a LOT of finish options over the years! Serious creativity. |

| I'd asked the factory about the tobaccoburst finish, they said it's custom-order. There's been so many finishes over the years, it's good we could still get the one we want. |

I had a discussion Saturday about the subtle differences between Carmen Red and Arena Red Boxsters with several guys and never had any doubts. We tossed in a few words about horsepower and sport exhausts, though, just to be safe. |
