But it's taking LOTS of self control not to chase it anyway...

Batter Up!

It seems however that my self control does not extended to keeping the hounds in the kennel.

Mods, if I've stepped over the line, I apologize, but I hate to stand by and let a respectable independent music business take slaps without a defense.

I would bet Ralph is our good doctor friend.

He really needs to get a life.

for the record. I don't cheat anyone. I have never misrepresented a guitar and I try to treat everyone fairly. Sometimes there are issues and misunderstandings but I resolve them the best I can.

I think you're "preaching to the choir" here Al.

That's funny.

Apparently the same guy made a similar post on my thread on my new Koala early last year at the AG Mag forum.

That is a very, very sad man.

Did he ever have the courage to sit down and have lunch with you and discuss his obvious problems with you Al? No matter, either way I guess he is still off his nut.

What an asswipe. Al, I hope you notified the AGF admin directly. You're absolutely right that "ralphie's" post is libel, and actionable not only against him but the AGF, as well, if they don't do anything to correct the situation.

"Let it go."

Yup, give Ralphie some time and he'll end up shooting his eye out.

Different situation, but I know a guy who has an honest to goodness stalker in his life. Its a long story, but it more or less boils down to an old boyfriend jilted by the guy's wife over 10 years ago before they were married.

The stalker knows all the rules, and knows how to stay just inside the lines, so the police can't do anything. You can only imagine how exhausting this is on my friend. The harassment essentially never stops: It occurs at least a few times every month.

And this has been going on for ten years!

Like Al says, there is nothing funny about this stuff.

Nice idea Randy, but this isn't a fixable situation.
It's too bad since he had a ton of Ovation knowledge. But like an egg, once it's broke, it's broke....

When you're in business, you CAN'T let stuff like this go. Al, you know what you're doing so it's silly for me to advise you, but if it were me, I'd be talking to the admins of both forums and I would make sure to mention the word LAWYER several times.

This post over on the other forum angers me. I've been there before but never registered to post anything. I'm in the process of registering right now and awaiting permission to post. I believe I can make a very informed contribution to this post.

Yeah that was quite a story Al. I remember you going through some of this from this nut a while back right in here. He told me you were trouble years ago.........

Amazing this guy not only started this whole thing by being rude and demanding that you sell your wares at a rediculously low price but he was so mad that you did not do as his EGO demanded that he has continued to slander you and stalk your activities on the internet.

You really do need to get copies of as many of the web postings he has made through the years and bring this stuff to a good Lawyer. There are many new laws that deal with this and from his history and the length of his personal crusade to hurt you or your business I'd say you have a good case and should be able to prove some damage.
Hell like I said if you need me to testify, to help prove a loss, I can verify that I spoke with this guy before finding this site and he told me to stay away from you and this bunch.
I checked it out and my first impression was this guy is nuts and very, very arrogant. A stake through the heart might be the only way to stop this vampire.

I would prefer this thread just die out, but having been involved both as Al's friend, a Webmaster and someone who has had to deal with "internet law" as part of my life for years there is a LOT more involved than keeping logs and getting testimony. The biggest hurdle is finding a lawyer to take on the case. That costs money, and as this involves many states and many years and someone that hides behind fictitious identities, not to mention only posting from public computers... It's serious $'s just to get someone interested, and to what end. Has he cost Al some business, maybe, but unless it can be measured into "xx dollars of lost sales" it's meaningless. As far a "liable" goes.. well.. you gotta prove who's doing the talking..er posting.

The laws are getting better. It's a little more difficult these days for someone to put up a "so-n-so-sucks.com" website and get away with slander. But just posting on open forums, essentially anonymously, you can pretty much say what you want, and guess what... The person who's really accountable, it the webmaster where it was posted. No matter how many disclaimers one may have, the bottom line is, when posted on a website, is the website owner can be held responsible, as they are providing the information. It's all very gray area's, but I think the best we can all do is just wait and trust that what goes around, comes around for this guy. And most importantly... BUY MORE GUITARS FROM AL !!!! :) (had to lighten this up somehow).

I hung around here for a couple years trying to figure out if Al was legit. Turns out he is just another grumpy old Pollack. I think we're related.
I read through all the old posts on the OFC guitar and what Al did to put that package together. That was a huge leap of faith for me, since it was my first new guitar in 30 years. Number 11/12 was worth it. So was 7/12 a year later. I finally met Al last summer and he's really a nice guy for a grumpy old Pollack. I just wish I had more funds to spend on his stuff.
