Location: Maryland, USA | I'm looking on my local Craigslist and I'm seeing an Ovation Custom Legend...but I thought it looked more like a 30th anniversary?
Of course, I'm no expert on Legends, so I was wondering if someone could help me out.

Location: CT | That's a Custom Legend, NOT the 30th Anniversary. I've only seen the Ann. in natural, and it has a truss rod cover with '30th Anniversary' inscribed. Also, the OP24 pre amp is too old for that model(Anniversary has the OP pro). |

Location: NW NJ | I have a 1719 from 1990 and (thanks to Jerome) it looks like this:
1719-4
Except for the bearclaw spruce top and the OP-Pro they are pretty much lool-alikes. Here is a 30th Anniversary one (again, thanks to Jerome):
30th Anniversary Custom Legend
Mine looks just like the 30th except it still has the OP-24 and the top has just a few bearclaw marks for character. Plays like a dream, and the deep bowl makes it a boomer. No cutaway on these (1719 & 30th Ann). |

Location: Phoenix AZ | I think the neck attachment is different. 1990 should be a k-bar neck and I think the 2004 was an intermediate step towards AEN. I could be wrong. Tony would know for sure. Dave |

Location: SoCal | 30th Anniv CL is the optimum Custom Legend...the spirit of the 1974 and modern updates. It has the dual rod. Of course, the OP-Pro & XLR.
Believe the one in the photo is a 1669...great guitar. |
