Location: SE Michigan | I had a DS768 for awhile and I had trouble using lights. There is just too much string floppin around out there on that 28 inch scale. It was hard to get the action down to a respectable level with out buzzes. I now realize (after having sold it) that it would have been much better to use medium gauge strings.
As far as string length goes, every string type I tried was plenty long enough with length to spare, so that was never a problem. |

Add a John Pearse Phoshor Bronze .072 6th string to a set of D'add EJ18's, throw away the .014. Drop tune to "B" Have fun!! If you want to play open chords with your friends, kappo up!!! |

Location: Upper Left USA | I have used the .072" setup on a normal guitar (1112) and played in B. Seems like the long neck could go a little more south.
Fred and I have played stonge's proto baritone 12 and it was issued some lights. The end result was a good 12 to amplify and use all that extra neck.
We'll just have to see how I like it set up when one finally gets to me. |

On the 2080D that I just got I just use the regular lites and they work just fine. I like going to open D and having the strings go up to get there. If somebody wants to go the extra and have mediums, go for it. |

I just finished working out the details on a 2080D in a matching 6 and 12.
Tell me how much I'm gonna love it! |

Location: 6 String Ranch | 2080 12 string would probably be pretty nice. The long neck 6 is the bomb. Long neck 12 might be too much, too many tones going on in low registers. Gets muddy and confused. There will be a long neck 12 at the New Jersey gathering so let's see what they have to say about it. Oh, and my 2080D will be there too. |
