The guitar isn't mic'ed nor plugged...

...though I definitely heard an Adamas playing in there somewhere.

Did they even have wireless back in the 70's?

Al that leads to a question that has probably been asked many times before, but here goes:

WHERE ARE THE ORIGINAL SLOTHEAD ADAMAS'S AND/ OR CAN THEY ALL BE ACCOUTED FOR? Just courious!

we have traced a little better than half the original ones to their current owners. I suspect a few are in Japan and that a few are in storage lockers of major stars and others under the beds of former musicians.

They had wireless in the 70's (at least later 70's).
First time I ever saw one used was at a CS&N show at MadSqGarden in '77. Stephen Stills did a couple laps around the stage while playing a solo on an old Gibby Firebird.

. . . I doubt if he could do THAT anymore . . .

That vid is from '76, so maybe wireless was just hitting the scene. I think the first time I saw it was either the Stones or Dire Straits in the very early 80's.

I saw a wire. Thin one.
Right around the one minute mark, the camera does a transition from a close-up to a rear view. Just as the transition completes, you can see a wire move at just about knee/calf level.

Damn, I looked hard for one. I saw him fiddle the knob (have at it)... but didn't see the wire.... Back To The Film....

Ahh...got it. Good eyes, Clifford. You certainly could have a career as a Peeping Tom.

The clip is from the "Love At The Greek" concert which is avaliable.

In the show he uses that slothead on a number of tunes until he breaks a string and has to give it the flick.

Love that lighter slothead blue.

Never confuse craft with art. As both a songwriter and performer Diamond is the consumate craftsman.

There ya go Cliff. I'm not a huge fan either, but my wife dragged me to a show of his decades ago.

One of the best live shows I've ever seen! ('course, maybe I just haven't seen enough shows..... ) But I'd sure love to be able to hold an audience in the palm of my hand like him.

I was uncomfortable with my mother's avid attraction to Neil Diamond.

(though I did buy her tickets to the tour in question)

My daughter just loves Orlando Bloom. I encourage it. It keeps her pure and chaste from afar.

If Neil Diamond or Robert Redford ever move to Vermont I will be looking for a place to live.

I have a real difficult time with the name Neil Diamond. I swear this is 100% true. I was in 7th grade and it was the first year we had to shower after gym class. There was this really tall kid named Neil Diamond who had been kept back 1 or 2 years. Anyway, it was the first time I ever saw real live pubic hair. And it was on a guy. And his name was Neil Diamond. I just can't get that name out of my freaking mind and I have NEVER, EVER owned a Neil Diamond record/CD and as far as I know have never strummed along to any of his music. Dave

Diamond would get more respect if hadn't persisted for all those years with the puffy sequined shirts and 1970's accountants hair doo.

I did finally drop the 70's pornstar moustache. Figured if my mom in law was going to shave hers, I probably could too.
