Well, I may have paid too much for this critter.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&item=260025106...

I just couldn't pass it up. A real piece of history.....for "a real piece of work".
Sounds like it's real playable, and, as you may recall, cosmetics & virtuosity aren't my greatest priorities.

Good for you. I was looking at that one as well, but thought that I'd have to settle for the 1614 that I have. Enjoy it.

Way to go!
I can't remember too many paydays that left me with extra money so what are you worried about! Be broke and content.

I had to grouse over that one too. Glad to see it will be close by!

The gestalt is good. A Josh in the hand, is much better than Ben (Franklin) in the pocket- "Make hay while the sun shines", right?
Hmmmmmmm.......more nesting space needed. Oh hell, I don't need that bed. I'll be sleeping in the doghouse, anyway!

That's an awesome deal you snatched there.

I don't often look at eBay but if y'all see a 6758 EliteT (textured top) please notify me ASAP, come rain, wind, snow or hurricane!

Here's a new one: http://www.musikland-online.de/onlineshop_gitakk3630425694_Ovation-...

Glad it went to one of the family. I had a $275 snipe set to go at 15 seconds in case it went to the (0) bidder but you got there ahead of time and just over that. Good job and let us know what its like in the flesh :-)

Technically, it was purloined from one of The OFC Brethren, albeit a relatively new arrival.
I will allow him to introduce his presence from the fringes of The Grand Lurkdom, at his discretion.
Nice thing about FleaBay auctions- kinda like poker, you don't have to show your hole card, if the competition folds. That was not my maximum bid, so yeah, it was a fortuitous expenditure. It's just business.......mostly.
Sure has made my day, though!

Serendipity and the OFC.

Last Weekend Me & mine drive about 80 miles away to an Outlet Mall in North Bend for some school clothes and such. I'm in one of the Outlets and there 4 feet away is none other than Seesquare. I wouldn't have recognized him if we both hadn't driven a couple of hundred miles to the OFC NW get together the weekend before!

We are everywhere!

Yeah, and now he's got me obsessed with a "VW-themed-O-bastard-A/E-stop-on-a-dime-Bob's-Your-Uncle-long-scale-contraption that will subsidize the GNP for the next 20 years.
Uh-huh. Keep ya posted......

hey LaStrange1, that 6758 Elite T would look kewl with a carved custom legend bridge.
What do ya think?

I like the carved bridges a lot and think it would look perfectly "right" on the 6-string EliteT's.

But the 12-string would be ULTRA FINE with that bigger bridge meticulously carved like the Custom Legend. That would definitely 'kick it up a notch.'

Nice Grab. If the top needs work have it repaired, not replaced, if possible. Otherwise it looks in good shape.

You got it so cheap that any money put into it at the factory (if needed) would be well worth it.

Sounds like it has had considerable professional attention, from a reputable company (Elderly Instruments), so I doubt there is much left for refurbishment. Its coming from a high-humidity environment (Memphis, TN), to relatively low (Yakima, WA), so I will be extra careful with acclimatizing it.
I'm not ruling out a trip to The Wizards @ The MotherShip, though.
