I'm not a Star Wars buff so I have no idea on how to spell that.

Anyway. My sister decided to start playing the mandolin today. She got a Fender starter pack.... 'cause she spends all her money on coffee. She denies that. Well, she got through about 4 chords and started learning some scottish ditty. *tear* I'm so proud.

Good thing she can tell the difference between her starter and $600 dollar mandolins though. I am bugging her to get an Ovation when she gets good. Then she'll jam with us. ....if she has the patience to keep at it, and doesn't get ADD

LOL!

Just because I spend 10.00 a day at FourBucks a/k/a Starbucks it does NOT mean I have a problem...so I'm willing to cut her some slack on the coffee thing.

The Mandolin, huh? Kewl! hope she does w....sorry got to go get coffee.

ADD, GAS, NPR, all distractions in life. The great thing about "starter" instruments is if you push through to the point you realize you need to upgrade - viola (sp)!

Maybe YOU need to buy an Ovation Mando to have around as an incentive! It's never too early to start your Christmas shopping...

No, Mike, a viola is an even larger stringed instrument.

Buy an O mandolin for yourself! Then let her play it, to see how she likes it. Maybe you can sell it to her later at a profit..uh I mean at a good reasonable price. If she doesn't want it, send it to me for free(plus pay the shipping), I'd like to learn mando on an O.

One of my daugters is named Amanda. I wanted her middle name to be Lynn, but my wife wouldn't go for that.
