Location: 6 String Ranch | I read his book a while ago and they talked about cutting the record Mercy. So I got a copy and I thought it sucked. I was always a fan of his till then. This new one is better? I should add that the last album I have of his is Blond on Blond, or maybe Skyline. |

I can't wait to get his new album though, my sister might pick it up in a couple of days. |

I would say, if you like the last few Dylan albums, you'll probably like this too. His voice is pretty much shot and is even more of an "aquired taste" than ever. I saw him back in '86 in New York City and remember thinking how cool it was to see a living legend in person. Everyone thought that he was pretty much finished at the time, and here is 20 years later with a new CD, and back out on tour. You gotta love that. |

Location: NJ | you gotta love dylan and hate him. He has put out a ton of material and some of it rather lame but the majority just unbelieveable. His lyrics are usually stellar. |

Somebody borrowed my copy of Freewheelin' in 1971 and never returned it, which I always regretted. I have the 3 CD Biograph set that has a lot of his great stuff on it. Never really liked anything he did since the late 70s.
If you haven't seen the No Direction Home DVD, I highly recommend it. Very well done and lots of interesting clips from the old days and great insight from Bob. |

Location: NJ | He's a great writer, but his voice absolutely grates on me. His songs are best done by someone else.
Last night, I saw David Bromberg do an acoustic solo version of Dylan's "It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry".
An absolutely BRILLIANT combination of great song done by a great musician . . . |

Frank Zappa - What's The Ugliest Part Of Your Body? Lyrics
What's the ugliest
Part of your body?
What's the ugliest
Part of your body?
Some say your nose
Some say your toes
(I think it's your mind)
But I think it's YOUR MIND
(Your mind)
I think it's your mind, woo woo
ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR
UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS OF
SYSTEMS BEYOND THEIR CONTROL
A PLAGUE UPON YOUR IGNORANCE & THE GRAY
DESPAIR OF YOUR UGLY LIFE
Where did Annie go
When she went to town?
Who are all those creeps
That she brings around?
ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR
UNFORTUNATE VICTIMS OF LIES YOU BELIEVE
A PLAGUE UPON YOUR IGNORANCE THAT KEEPS
THE YOUNG FROM THE TRUTH THEY DESERVE . . . |

"Did I wink of this, I am
yum, yummy, yum, don't, yummy, yum, yom, yom...
Yes, I'm thinking of this, in steam
skeleton kissed to the steel rail " |

I've been listening to it quite a bit and I'm liking it more and more. |

I said the same thing about Joe Cocker. The last time I heard him sing it sounded like he had been eating gravel before the concert. He was opening for BB King in Raleigh-Durham. |
