Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | After watching the Derek Trucks band on a HD TV concert, I ordered the DVD from Netflix. He is one fabulous guitarist. I recently saw, in a British magazine, that Clapton, named him the best living guitarist. I'm in awe of players from Hendrix, to Page to Tal Farrow, and a 100 in between, but Derek Trucks just amazes me with his talent. Watching him play his SG is amazing, he's SRV and Duane Allman in one. If you gat a chance to view his Songlines Live DVD, you'll be amazed. |

Location: New Hampsha | I saw him last night in NH and was amazed. He never used a pick, strummed and finger-picked the whole night. He muted strings by stuffing some fingers of his right hand into the strings while the rest kept pickin'. And he is absolutely right up there with a slide. Awesome, awesome guitarist.
And I saw Eric Johnson last Sunday. Make me want to sit in a corner and hug my guitars... |
