Anyone use Adamas strings ?

I believe my #47 came with them. I like the feel and tone.

I also read somewhere that they're the only string James Taylor uses.

I don't know what J.T. uses, but after years of touting Elixirs, I've now got Adamas 1818's on almost everything I play. The lone exception is my 87C which is my main "play out" guitar. On it I'm using Elixir phospher bronze's.

I got a bunch from that sale awhile ago and still haven't used them all up. I like them better than the Martin SPs I have on 2 of the guitars and will probably put them on those 2, too. Good thing I like them. I bought a bunch of cheap strings for the Ultra GS and they buzz and I broke one trying to tune it. The Schaller bridge and locking nut is too much for me.

D'add EJ16's I belive you dreamt...

New guitar leave the mothership with EXP16's, which are fine, but I like un-coated PB's...

They are made by D'Ad but the construction is sposed to be different. Adamas are sposed to be equal core and wrap whereas the D'Ad has a larger core. All that said I'm not sure the difference is all that decernable. The Adamas 1818, D'Ad J16 and the D'Ad EXP are all pretty much the same. Surely they have D'Addario in OZ? Just get those.

I like the tone of the 1818's - they seem a bit brighter to me than the EXPs (subjective I know!). They don't last as long but then they are 1/3 of the price - so it's still cheaper!!
