Very well done with the photography. One suggestion: to make that shot perfect, you need Natasha Kinski wrapped around the guitar. :cool: |

Location: Germany | OK folks, here is the story:
It was a p.i. guitar for several years before I acquired it from a very nice guy in Southern California. This guy had sent it back to the mothership for a refurbishment were they sealed a wood crack, refinished the top and put a new but slightly larger bridge on it. Here's a pic how it looked after the first trip back home:
Then it went on the trip over the Atlantic ocean and I was very, very happy with it. It was in an excellent condition and sound was so sweet!
Then one day last year I visited a huge guitar store in Frankfurt/Germany where they had three of the reissue guitars on display:
- 1618 Glen Campbell reissue (12-string)
- 1627 Glen Campbell reissue (6-string)
- K-1111 Balladeer reissue "shiny bowl"
I loved these guitars for different reasons. The 1618 sunburst left me breathless. It's hard to find a nicer sunburst on the market. The 1627 sound left me speechless. What a sweet sound! And the Balladeer's three-piece top and shiny bowl reminded me of my Dlx Balladeer I had at home.
Back home grew an idea and early this year I made the decision to send my Dlx Balladeer back to the factory for a complete rebuild. I merged the best of four guitars to create a completely new one. The specification was:
- sunburst of 1618 reissue
- A-bracing of 1627 reissue
- three-piece top, shiny bowl, inlaid rosette and five-point bridge of 1111 reissue
- neck, fretboard, tuner and label of original p.i. guitar
And what I got back last week left me speechless and breathless. Folks, this guitar is stunning, at least to my ears and eyes.
I'm very proud to be the owner of this guitar. I think it's unique (have you ever heared of a three piece-top with A-bracing?). Thanks to KK for making it possible and for the excellent craftmanship. This guitar is perfect! You wouldn't think that parts of this guitar are 40 years old. They are real wizards!
....and they all lived happily ever after.
