| Hello fellow Ovation groupies! I'm new to this site and was recommended to it by Kim Keller of Ovation. What bought me here was a major problem I had with a new Balladeer Pre amp. It stopped working. I bought it back to my dealer and they proceeded to send me in circles. Long story short, they sent it to Ovation but it got damaged in shipping. Now thy are waiting for a claim from UPS. I dropped the guitar off on 7-5......they finally conceded today to give me back my money.
Question: Wouldn't it have much easier for them to send the bad pre amp to Ovation for replacement? The guitar was purchased in March. |

Location: CA | What a crock! They should have IMMEDIATELY pulled a working pre-amp out of another O, installed it in yours and sent you home happy. Then deal with the bad one on their own.
Either that or offered you a replacement guitar. Why do I think the name of this business might have had the initials GC?
Kim is a great guy and is part of a team at the 'mothership' that can work absolute magic on old Ovations that have been rode hard and put away wet.
Hope you're not discouraged from Ovations by such shoddy service. I also hope you never shop at that place again. Plenty of nice Ovations out there waiting for new owners! |

I gotta agree with Oddball.
With the added point that they should have just gave you another guitar.
Getting your money back does you no good.
I'm only guessing, but if you got your Balladeer this past Spring, that was either before or during the "big sale"...
I don't believe that you can get a USA Balladeer anymore.
But don't let them guys turn-you-off about Ovations.
Stick around
[I correct myself... Sweetwater still has 2771 LX's listed at $700... But that is a contour.) |

I would probably recommend not using the same dealer again...bad handling on their part. If you want new, talk to alpep...very fair and straight. If you want something better for less money that you probably got, go used in the for sale section. |
