It's not bearclaw, but I still have THIS ONE AVAILABLE. And I will do a layaway-type plan if that helps.

I won't be sad if it never sells, but I am considering a custom build. If this one did move, I would probably take it as a sign that I should be starting another conversation with the factory.

Stupid GAS.

Just curious... Why a 1669? Just because they're rare?

I should have kept my mouth shut. When the guy brought the 1669 in on consignment I raved about it. It was in near mint condition and it sounded SO GOOD! I wanted to buy it for myself but I promised myself I wouldn't buy any new guitars for myself this year - I still have to pay the other half of my custom order baritone.

So the guy came in this morning and said he had changed his mind and decided to keep it. He barely ever plays. I told him I had a buyer and that if he wanted a guitar to play with occasionally he should buy a cheaper one. No dice. He said that this one was so nice and so rare he wanted this one.

If he changes his mind AGAIN, I will buy it on the spot so he can't back out again.

Damon67, I am a custom legend fan and wanted a cutaway. I knew they made them but wasnt sure which years they were in production. found out they made them in a deep bowl. Alison contacted me and the rest is history. Still bumming over that one :(

I'm a Legend/Custom Legend fan as well. As a matter of fact, I had a 1667 that ended up over there with Alison too.

Have you considered an Al DiMeola model? That's what I ended up with after trying several Custom and non-Custom Legends. THere was a 1769 prior to the Al Dimeola model too. Same guitar, newer electronics for the most part.

Hi again Dan,

My 87C is all original and looks nearly new. You may be thinking of my Book Elite that was damaged and rebuilt with a new bridge. It's a very similar looking instrument.

Keep me posted. If you go after this one, it would put some pretty interesting wheels in motion. ;)

Email sent Dan. I'm not in a hurry to lose such a fine instrument, so I'll be glad to hold it for a while. BTW, it's the standard op-24 pre-amp, and it works just fine.
