The OFC CD Volume 3. Can be ordered at the link below.

OFC CD VOL.3

Hope you like it. I'm going to cap the quantity at 100 copies which is about what we've sold in each of the past two editions.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Dave

PS - The remaining few copies of Vol.1 and Vol.2 are available from Miles in the OFC Store.

Hmmm. PayPal is not allowing me to alter the total to adjust for the shipping charges.

Seems like it won't let me adjust the quantity either.

so I just ordered it 3 separate times. Great price considering there was no shipping for the first 10 CDs sold.

Great promotion Dave!!!! Glad I was in on the first 10 that were ordered!

Dave - I ordered a CD - and I sent the shipping charges separately through paypal. As was stated above - couldn't adjust for shipping.

Thanks!

OK. Hopefully the shipping thing is fixed. Sorry about that. It should automatically fill in the correct shipping fee depending where your address is.

Thanks, Dave

Noooo! say it ain't so!
That's one advantage with the old school type calendars.

Come on folks... green up for the cause.

At first glance may not seem like as good a deal as the Big Hair Band Love Songs from the Seventies -3 disc set that I saw offered on TV last night but trust me ... it is.

Bill, Shhhh .... That's a MARKETING ploy. Gives the impression of limited availability and collectability. Helps keep the price up until I reach the point where I have to blow out the inventory and I strat calling them "FRG"

CD1 sold around 80 copies and CD2 sold about 120. Plus Miles put some extras in the OFC store. Bottom line is, this is a limited time project.

Based on that sample in the other thread, I can identify some of the people, like serge, for example, and there is some world class stuff on there. This group is amazing. I am a flogger compared to these guys.

The point I'm trying to make is:

You are getting real value for money with this CD.

Not sure why T28 is thumping his chest ...

There's over 40 of them in the mail right now. Even had to carry a batch with me on the plane today to Salt Lick City 'cuz I ran out of mailers and had to dash to work. If yours comes postmarked from Pleasent Grove, UT you'll know it accumulated frequent flyer miles with me.

Dave.

Yes Stephen, yours went by FedEx. I can taste the cold one now ...

I just got through playing in our club championship and miracle of miracles I actually won first place in my flight. Consistency is the key to winning and I very seldom have it. However it is nice to have braggin rights for the rest of the year and I had a lot of buddies buying me drinks!

A guy, Sam, we play with is 74. the other two are 53,57 any young Jeffery is 32. We all play from the blues. Sam wants to go to the whites, pleads his age and all those excuses. I say he can go to the whites but no strokes, he now gets 14. he stays at the blues. We tell him when he's 80 he can play from the whites. He said what if I die before then. My responce was we'll put on your headstone "He dies playing life from the blues" Everyone stopped and said that was a great song and I had to write it. working on it......

We've been going to our town's CommunityPool after-work and on the weekends a lot this Summer.

Last Sunday, I sat in a lounge-chair there with a ukelele (and a smuggled snifter of rum) and wrote "The Parts-per-Million SwimClub" . . .

Do you want just the front cover, or front/back??

That photo comes from a real estate company on Cape Cod. I was browzing their website doing some very, very preliminary browzing for a vacation/retirement property. It just seemed to capture a nice "vibe". I actually have their permission to use the photo.

Cliff, save that photo and anytime the little lady gives you crap show it to her and and "hey, this could be me, baby. One chair"

. . all too well.

btw;
The "other" photo is one I took from a boat of a beach on the DominicanRepublic near the town of Samana.
We were on our way out into the bay to watch humpback whales nursing their young.
The bay (and the whales) were gorgeous!
The town os Samana was an absolute toilet.

Given the requests posted here for copies of the CD artwork, I'd like to make this suggestion for future CDs: Burn the disk in two sessions. First the music tracks, then a data session with the label and jewel case artwork. Unless someone out there has need for higher resolution, 300dpi JPEG files would probably be sufficient for our purposes.

a text file with all the artist info and instrumentation used on the song would be cool to have on the disc also....

but I have a feeling Dave stuffs the disc with as much music as possible which leaves little room for additional information.

You guys are pressing your luck ...

Actually I think future "OFC CDs" should not be physical CDs but should be completely downloadable including graphics and liner notes. I mean, when was the last time you actually bought "a CD".

For the most part I either listen to vinyl or MP3's

I think you're right, Dave. Then nobody can complain about how long it's taking to get to them. Other than their d/l speed, that is.

Then we can print the artwork, burn the mp3's onto cd's and still feel special.

I still buy CDs all the time and am slowly replacing my vinyl collection with them. I digitize and burn the more obscure vinyl records in my collection which will probably never be available in CD form.

I even have a legal size scanner so I can reproduce the album jacket and inserts as accurately as possible. Overkill? Maybe, but it keeps me out of trouble.

I love having the liner notes and the art. They round out the package and add to the enjoyment of the music. It's sad to see the demise of 12-inch albums and the great stuff that came with them. Who didn't hang that great poster on their wall when "Dark Side of the Moon" was released?

I bought 3 or 4 CDs in the last couple weeks. I only change when forced to do so. I don't have an mp3 player and haven't knowingly downloaded any music ever. The other day our daughter offered to download an album for us, but I told her I preferred to buy the CD and did.

I prefer to buy the CD and get the wav files and the cover art, small as it may be. Somehow, having a commercial product in hand seems like a better value than downloading bits and bytes. MP3 downloads seem too ethereal for stuff I want to keep. Besides, the home stereo and car CD players don't play MP3 discs.

Surprise! I never had an 8 track. I was a radical and decided that cassettes were way better. I had one of the first reversible cassette car stereos, back when they all mounted under the dash, and the first stackable cassette home player, made by Norelco. No, you couldn't also shave with it. Both were unreliable as hell, but still better than 8 tracks.

OK FOLKS THAT'S IT. OFC CD VOL.3 is SOLD OUT

Thanks to all those who participated on the project and all those who purchased the CDs. I shipped just over 100 of them!

A few folks bought multiple copies, maybe to give to their friends so thanks for that. Hope they enjoy them. One fellow bought 10 of them! I also sent some to our friends back in the factory so they can hear what Takamines sound like - JUST KIDDING !!!

The last small handful went to Miles to put in the OFC store in case anyone in the future wants one.

Thanks again. Hope we can do this again in the future.

On previous Vols. we listed the Members' "ScreenNames" in the TrackListing.
The template of this year's also had that provision incorporated into it, but not everyone listed their ScreenNames (at least, they weren't fwd'd to me . . .).

Mine just arrived (packed safely inside a reso guitar from dvd. thank-you very much for that, David.) Sounds great so far, but I haven't been assaulted by Cliffs offering yet.....

So, did contributors ever get around to presenting their individual liner note details? Who played which through what? Y'know, the kind of minutia the anal retentives (I'm sure we have them.....) live & die for.

Mr.s Witko, Doenges, and the contributors....thank you all.

Mebbe there should be a "Group" set-up over on the otherBoard pertaining to Vol3 and contributors could post liner notes, anecdotes, lyrics/tabs(ifYouWish) . .

Call it Vol3 Annals(orAnals).
